I’m home again,
can’t stay too long.
But I see her now again
as her shadow slips from the room.
And now and then
I remember when
the stars shone high in the night
and we’d sat in the light of the moon.
Now her footsteps go softly,
but I hear them still, gently.
Her steps go alight,
burned into my mind,
she walks through my dreams in shades of starlit sky.
And I’ll use them to know,
where she stays I’ll go—
in my dreams where wander long and empty roads.
And now… I’m… home again
can’t stay too long.
But I see her now again
as her shadow slips from the room.
And now, again
I think of then,
of our footprints in the sand—
of twin sailboats we’d left on the shore.
Now her footsteps go softly,
but I hear them still, gently.
Her steps go alight,
burned into my mind,
she walks through my dreams in shades of scarlet sky.
And I’ll use them to know,
where she stays I’ll go—
in my dreams where wander long and empty roads.
And now… she’s… home again
can’t stay too long.
But I see her now again
as my shadow slips from the room.
And now and then
I imagine when
the sun shone high in the sky,
and we’d walked on that Skyline of yore
Now my footsteps go softly,
but she hears them still gently.
My steps go alight
burned into her mind,
we walk through her dreams in shades of sunlit sky.
And she’ll use them to know,
where I stay she’ll go—
in my dreams where wander long and empty roads.Discussion about this post
